To be able to start your driving test you have to be able to read a number plate correctly from the distance of 20m. You will be given a couple of chances to do this – with the final one being them getting a tape measure to measure it perfectly to ensure they are asking you to do it from the minimum distance required.
If you cannot read the number plate from the required distance, unfortunately you will not be able to take the driving test and they will ask you to surrender your licence until you have gained the correct prescriptive lenses to enable you to read the number plate from the required distance.
