I can safely change gears 1 to 3 and 3 to 1 in sequence when appropriate.
I can safely change gears 1 to 5 and 5 to 1 in sequence when appropriate.
I can safely change gears selectively – I can miss out gears (change from 3rd to 1st etc)
I can pull up in any gear and move on quickly.
I can slow down in any gear and select 1st gear, then use clutch control to slowly crawl along the road.
I can recognise when to change gear up or down based on noise of the engine or amount of engine revs.
I can anticipate when I might need to change gear to enable myself to deal with a changing situation – such as a hill.
